Dr. Johnston is a certified Montessori Teacher (MACTE) for 2.5 years and WA State certified teacher and has been in the education field for more that 40 year. During these years, she has been a teacher, director, trainer and mentor. In addition to her teaching background, she has served at the local and state level of the National Association for the Education of Young and is on the Montessori Institute of America Board.
